Our Mission here at PARF
At the Parsons Animal Rescue Foundation, we are devoted to giving abused and neglected horses a second chance at life through compassionate rehabilitation, mindful training, and thoughtful rehoming. In partnership with the Alberta SPCA and local rescues, we work to heal both the visible and invisible wounds left by cruelty—advocating every day for the humane treatment and protection of all equines.
As our work has evolved, so has our understanding of what healing truly means. Alongside rehabilitation, we now offer equine-assisted therapeutic support, creating intentional spaces where humans and horses can meet in stillness, connection, and mutual restoration. Through guided experiences shaped by the quiet wisdom of the herd, we help individuals reconnect with themselves, fostering emotional growth, resilience, and inner calm.
Inspired by a legacy of kindness and empathy, we continue to stand against the inhumane export of horses for slaughter, working toward a future where every horse knows safety, dignity, and the promise of a forever home.
Our foundation carries the name and the spirit of someone whose life embodied compassion—a person who showed us that a life lived in service to others, human and animal alike, is a life deeply worth living. Brenda’s legacy guides every step we take.
