Equine Angels
Over the years we have been blessed to love so many horses. While some come in to our care temporarily as we help to rehabiltate and rehome them, others come in to our care until their final days.
We want to honour the souls that have graced us through the years with their entire hearts.
We will forever be eternally grateful for the gift of having known and loved them before they transitioned over the Rainbow Bridge.
Red
Red was a horse like no other. Considered the founding member of our herd, he gave me the courage to follow my dreams and build a rescue dedicated to supporting and giving back to the animal community.
He was brave, bold and loyal. And filled with so much pride and determination. Loyal and intuitive like no horse I’ve ever met.
Forever in our hearts. Forever a part of me.
Rest in Peace, my Sweet Love.
2005-2024
Roo
Roo was our sanctuary sweet heart. Our bestie. Our grouchy little grass mower.
She had sass that would put you in your place but a heart of gold that would make yours melt to the floor.
We miss her nickers every morning beyond what we can express in words.
Run free our sanctuary angel, we miss you like no other.
1994-2024
Jack
Jack was the sweetest of the sweet.
Kind. Gentle. Handsome. And much too young.
Overused. Under appreciated.
Though he had many years ahead of him, Jack chose to live his final days with us. He chose to transition on his own terms. Loved and with us.
We were honoured to know you sweet Jack.
Run free, Pain free.
2010 - 2022
Loki
Loki, Our gentle giant.
We only had a few short days with you but our hearts still ache with sadness.
You had the brightest eyes, the biggest heart, the goofiest energy and we loved every moment we were able to spend with you.
We are so sorry we couldn’t do more. We hope you are leaping over fences and flying high wherever you are.
2020 - 2022
Denni (aka Honey)
Denni, our gritty little mare.
You carried the weight of the world and the burdens of others on your strong back. You were one of the most determined and unapologetic souls we’ve been blessed to know.
Thank you for choosing us to support you through your final years. We are grateful to have been a short chapter in your life’s journey.
Run Free, Pain Free.
2000-2023
Jaxon (a.k.a Jax)
Jax was a young gelding who came in to our care in the Fall of 2024. He had been dropped off at an auction as a yearling due to his deformed knees (undiagnosed physis). Luckily a loving family purchased him and gave him a safe space to live for the last few years. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, he had to be rehomed and so he came to our sanctuary in hopes of enjoying a long and loving retirement. Sadly, due to the deteriorating health of his knees, we had to make the difficult decision to let Jax go just a year after his arrival.
He passed peacefully, surrounded by love and with a tummy full of apples. We know he is now running freely through Heaven’s pastures with the freedom and ease he once only dreamed of.
2020-2025
Whiz (a.k.a Hanna)
Whiz was surrendered into our care in the Fall of 2021. After spending her life as a reining and barrel horse, it was time for her to retire.
She spent her whole life serving. Wholeheartedly carrying the weight, the dreams and the egoic desires of humans without protest. Every step, every turn, every moment asked of her was honoured. Because that was the soul she was. She came to this earth to serve, to teach and to love. And she did all three with incredible grace and beauty.
Our sweet Whiz, You’ve earned your rest a thousand times over and are now returned to the great field beyond - where all souls run free.
